Based on the adolescent life of the show’s creator, Jim Jenkins, Doug premiered on August 11, 1991 and was followed that night by Rugrats and The Ren + Stimpy Show – Nickelodeon’s first three original animated shows.
Doug ran for 4 seasons and 52 episodes on Nickelodeon before finding a new home on ABC, after being acquired by Disney. The show returned to screens in 1996 with a new title, Brand Spanking New! Doug before being renamed as Disney’s Doug for its final season.
As one of the longer running (7 seasons and 117 episodes) animated Nickelodeon shows – albeit on Nickelodeon and another network – Doug doesn’t appear to be a nostalgic favourite compared to that of other Nickelodeon shows. Generally we have to sort through a bunch of horrible tattoos in order to bring you the best, but with Doug these are basically all we found.
There may be only five (now seven) tattoos here but four characters are featured: Doug (of course); Doug’s dog, Porkchop; Doug’s sister, Judy; and Doug’s crush, Patti.
Will you be adding a Doug themed tattoo to your collection?
