If there’s one company in Japan that embodies the essence of kawaii it is Sanrio. Before we get into everyone’s favourite, Hello Kitty, let’s explore one of Sanrio’s newest characters: Gudetama.
Created in 2013, Gudetama is a food-themed character as it is the yolk of an unfertilised egg – kind of gross for Kawaii Month, but let’s just roll with it.
The character’s name is a combination of the Japanese words for lazy and egg. Most of us can likely relate to Gudetama – there are days when we, too, just can’t.
Be a lazy egg and lie around (watching one of the many hundred Gudetama episodes online) while your tattoo artist works their butt off to give you an amazing Gudetama tattoo – just like the ones below.
