Hocus Pocus is celebrating its 25th anniversary. For those of you unfamiliar with this Disney film we’ll give you a bit of a rundown about the cult-classic.
Hocus Pocus is a comedy horror and fantasy film about three witches: the Sanderson sisters. Winifred, Sarah and Mary were killed in 1693, only to be resurrected 300 years later when the black flame candle was lit on All Hallows Eve. These witches aren’t the good-doing sisters from Charmed or anything like Sabrina and her aunts – the Sanderson sisters are pure evil. Billy Butcherson, Winifred’s unfaithful lover is brought back as a zombie to help the sisters to steal the souls of all the children of Salem, Massachusetts. Essentially, the film is simply a battle between the children and the witches, but we suggest giving it a watch if you’ve yet to.
There have been rumours swirling for years of a Hocus Pocus sequel or prequel, but don’t hold your breath. If a Hocus Pocus tattoo has been on your wishlist for some time, you may as well go and get it because a new film (with new characters and imagery) may never come.
Now, when it comes to a Hocus Pocus tattoo there is certainly a wide variety available online, from which we have selected our top 30 (now 40, as of October 2019).
For your own tattoo, we suggest that you re-watch the film and be inspired by the witches, the candle, the spell book, the zombie, the landscape, the lines and the lyrics. There’s so much you can do with a movie-themed tattoo – don’t fall into the trap of copying another person’s tattoo or simply using the first result from Google Images.
Clear your mind and see what concept begins to develop in your mind; use that idea to put together a vision board and to guide you in the direction of the right tattoo artist. Any of the people featured below, during Halloween Month, or elsewhere on LWG would be more than capable to produce a custom Hocus Pocus tattoo for you.
Let these tattoos put a spell on you but remember to only be inspired but never copy them.
