Top 10 Sugar Glider Tattoos – Littered With Garbage

Sugar gliders, also known as gliding possums, are an omnivorous nocturnal marsupial native to Australia, Indonesia and New Guinea. Originally found only on Australia’s mainland, they were introduced to the state of Tasmania in the early 19th century.

Despite their similar appearance, sugar gliders are actually not closely related to flying squirrels. Each side of their body has membranes connecting the front and back legs which enables the animal to glide through the air from one tree to another; a septum in the females’ pouch protects their young when airborne.

Quolls, kookaburras, goannas and snakes are their main predators and a sugar glider’s ability to “fly” up to 50m helps them to avoid falling prey to those animals.

Sugar gliders are a protected species in Australia, ensuring their status as one of least concern. Many states in the US allow people to keep these animals as exotic pets – the current population has been bred from sugar gliders sourced from Indonesia.

Some sugar gliders live in colonies containing up to four generations – this is something which we would love to one day see in the wild.

If you’re opposed to wild animals being kept as pets, a tattoo is a safe way to show your love and appreciation for these super cute creatures. Known for their love of sap and nectar, we’re sure you’ll find these ten sugar glider tattoos to be super sweet!
