‘The Birdcage’ Tattoo Inspiration – Littered With Garbage

Featuring a star-studded cast including the likes of Robin Williams, Nathan Lane, Gene Hackman, Dianne Wiest (Edwards Scissorhands), and The Simpsons, Hank Azaria, this month marks the 25th anniversary of The Birdcage. We’re celebrating in the only way we know how: by sharing some tattoos inspired by the film.

The Birdcage is actually an American adaptation/English language remake of La Cage aux Filled, a 1978 Franco-Italian film.

The story follows a Conservative politician, Kevin currently dealing with a huge scandal in his party who travels with his wife to Miami to meet his future son-in-law’s parents. With the media following him, he is completely unaware that the father, Armand is gay and lives with his partner, Albert who performs as Starina at the drag club they own and live above. The situation gets more and more ridiculous as the minutes pass and the lies begin to unravel.

After all is said and done, The Birdcage is meant to be a silly comedy film but still comes across as a reminder that we’re all human and deserve love and respect.

We’re positive that we’ve seen an Armand Goldman tattoo but we cannot for the life of us track it down again. We’re hoping it is one of the several thousands of tattoos still in the Saved section on Instagram and that we have just yet to screenshot, caption and save into our image library. We’ll be sure to update you in the future. Until then, enjoy these Birdcage inspired pieces.
