Kate Bush Tattoo Inspiration – Littered With Garbage

Kate Bush was aged just 19 when her debut single “Wuthering Heights” (1978) went number 1 in the UK.

Throughout her 40-plus year career, Kate has achieved a number of records – the first female artist to hit the top of the charts with a self-written song (for “Wuthering Heights”); the first solo British female artist to reach number 1 on the UK album chart; the first female artist to enter the album chart at number 1 – the latter two being for her third studio album, Never for Ever.

Kate’s had 25 Top 40 singles, all ten of her studio albums have reached the UK Top 10, and she has been nominated for three Grammy Awards. For an artist to achieve such incredible feats it goes to show just how transfixed people are with Kate’s voice and songwriting abilities.

Out of the public eye for much of the ’90s, Kate’s most recent studio album release was 2011’s 50 Words for Snow. It was followed by a 2016 live-album Before the Dawn which was a 2014 recording of Kate’s residency at the Hammersmith Apollo in London – prior to that, Kate had not performed live on stage for 35 years.

While “Wuthering Heights” is an incredible song, we especially love her duet with Peter Gabriel (previously of Genesis), “Don’t Give Up.” What’s your favourite Kate Bush song?

If you’re a fan of both Kate Bush and Noel Fielding, perhaps Noel’s dance performance on a charity show will serve as inspiration for your piece.
