Star of the stage, screen (film and television), and music (of course), 2018 marked 55 years in the entertainment industry for the legendary diva, Cher.
Over he course of her career, Cher has won just about every award, sold millions of records, was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and even won an Oscar for her acting. In the process she has become a gay icon – she was a special guest at last year’s Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, and Chad Michaels’ impersonation of Cher on RuPaul’s Drag Race is iconic.
There’s no denying that Cher has enhanced her appearance through cosmetic procedures over the years, and choosing to decorate our own bodies with tattoos is the path many of us have taken to make ourselves look and feel beautiful; Cher tattoos are almost like a meeting of worlds.
Known for her extravagant and barely there outfits, a Cher tattoo can be just as over the top decorative, or a more subdued realism portrait; it all depends what Cher means to you and which era you wish to portray in ink.
