A rabbit foot being considered lucky is a superstition held by cultures around the world for a range of reasons. In North America it’s possibly in some way connected to Friday the 13th – not the film with Jason Voorhees, but the day being considered unlucky. The lucky charm is created by cutting the foot off a rabbit, drying and preserving it, and attaching it to a chain.
