Banana Split Tattoo Inspiration – Littered With Garbage
When you cut a banana in half length ways and then top it with three scoops of ice cream (one each of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry), drizzle with a sweet sauce (chocolate, strawberry or pineapple), some squirts of whipped cream, along with a cherry or two, then you have yourself a banana split. The National Ice Cream Retailers Association certifies Latrobe, Pennsylvania, USA as the birthplace of the banana split, and David “Doc” Strickler as its creator back in 1904. It was three years later in 1907 that the first recipe for a banana split was published and circulated to the greater population. In 1919, The Spatula Soda Water Guide…

Top 30 ‘Wonder Woman’ Tattoos – Littered With Garbage
2021 will mark 80 years since Wonder Woman’s introduction to DC Comics and first appearance in All Star Comics #8. In those (almost) 80 years it took 75 before Wonder Woman received her own feature film adaptation. 2020 has been a shitty year, but it’s ending with the return of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in WW84 (Wonder Woman 1984). Aside from both of Tim Burton’s Batman films, we’re generally not fans of modern superhero films, but we are suckers for anything ’80s themed and films or television shows starring Kristen Wiig, so maybe we’ll be adding Wonder Woman 1984 to our list of films to watch. We haven’t searched for Wonder…

These Rose Family Tattoos are the Schitt! – Littered With Garbage
Schitt’s Creek, that is. Created by father and son, Eugene and Dan Levy, Schitt’s Creek made its television debut on January 13, 2015. Sadly the current season will be the sixth and final. After a total of 80 episode, we’re looking forward to more fans heading to the tattoo parlour for a permanent reminder of their favourite television show. Schitt’s Creek centres around the Rose family who have been defrauded by their business manager. They’re forced to move to the town of Schitt’s Creek – their one an only remaining asset – and live in the town’s rundown motel. The dysfunctional family tries in vain to rebuild their lives whilst…

‘Moulin Rouge’ Tattoo Inspiration – Littered With Garbage
Co-written and directed by Baz Luhrmann, Moulin Rouge was released in 2001 and starred Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor. The romance and drama musical followed the love story between Christian (a writer) and Satine (a performer). Despite being set in 1900, Moulin Rouge had a modern soundtrack, with certain song lyrics changed to fit the narrative. Moulin Rouge features elaborate, decorative and colourful set dressing and costumes which you may wish to embrace for your tattoo, or go in the opposite direction with a colour realism portrait of your favourite character. We’ve not yet watched this film (we’ll get around to it eventually), but we have listened to the cover…

Top 10 ‘Animal Crossing’ x Halloween Tattoos – Littered With Garbage
Animal Crossing tattoos are certainly popular; in fact, the video game is just one of three themes (pizza and squirrels the other two) to reach 100 tattoos here on LWG. Are Animal Crossing and Halloween two of your favourite things? If tattoos are third on your list, then a Halloween themed Animal Crossing piece should be next on your tattoo wishlist. Halloween themed Animal Crossing tattoos are not yet as common as the game as a whole – Covid-19 has likely ruined many tattoo plans – but we’ve found a cute ones to spark your imagination. The video game is full of colourful visuals that any talented tattooer can turn…

Top 10 Duffy and Friends Tattoos – Littered With Garbage
The story goes that Minnie Mouse sewed a teddy bear for Mickey and hid it in Mickey’s duffel bag prior to his trip out to sea. This is how a new bear was added to an extensive list of Disney characters and why he came to be named Duffy. Duffy is unique in that he is a character created solely for Disney parks and was not first introduced in a Disney film or television show. Duffy the Disney bear was originally created in 2002 for Disney World’s Downtown Disney Open Upon a Toy Shop opening. Intended to be a unique, one-off bear, Duffy was reintroduced two years later to Tokyo’s…

Top 35 ‘Rocko’s Modern Life’ Tattoos – Littered With Garbage
If you were a 90s kid, chances are that you were glued to your television and binge-watched Nickelodeon every day after school. One our favourites (probably because we’re Australian and it featured a wallaby) was Rocko’s Modern Life. The show ran for four seasons and produced 52 episodes, with re-runs on steady rotation following its finale in 1996. We recently shared some Rugrats tattoos to celebrate their return, and now we get to to the same for Rocko’s Modern Life. The show will be returning to our screens later this year with a one-hour television special titled Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling to air on Netflix. If you’re cynical about the current…

These Tattoos Are Not a Figment of Your Imagination – Littered With Garbage
It appears that it has been too long between Walt Disney World trips (22 years, in fact) because we don’t ever recall seeing this Disney mascot known as Figment. Found in the Journey into Imagination ride in the Future World section of EPCOT Center, Figment was created by Tony Baxter and Steve Kirkand and first introduced in 1983. The attraction has undergone various changes in the decades since its launch – with Figment actually removed for several years – but originally Figment was taught by a scientist how to use his imagination. In fact, Figment himself is a figment of the scientist’s imagination as he’s a combination of elements that…

‘Heathers’ Tattoo Inspiration – Littered With Garbage
Released in 1988, Heathers is a film starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater (and Shannen Doherty before hitting it big in Beverly Hills, 90210 and Charmed). The film follows a group of four girls – three of which are named Heather – and the series of messed up events and murders which take place at their high school. Many films are said to be similar to Heathers but the same can be said about the similarities in Heathers to that of Massacre at Central High. The dark comedy received critical acclaim, however it didn’t lead to bums in seats at the cinemam and failed to make back its budget at…

Top 30 Barbie Tattoos – Littered With Garbage
Barbie turns 60 next year, and over the past six decades in excess of a billion Barbie dolls have been sold worldwide. While the popularity and sales of actual Barbie dolls has declined in recent years, the number of people with at least one tattoo continues to grow. Many, if not all, of you reading this probably owned a Barbie doll sometime in your life. The dolls likely evoke fond childhood memories, and perhaps that’s something which you’re wishing to express in the form of a tattoo. There has, however, been negative press (and research) surrounding Barbie over the years, with the argument being that the dolls contribute to self-esteem…
