Whitney Houston was one talented, award winning, recording-breaking diva, selling over 200 million records in her career. In terms of sales and some 35 years later, her debut and sophmore albums remain the biggest-selling first two albums of any band or singer in history.
Whitney’s talents extended into acting, starring with Kevin Costner in The Bodyguard (1992), which happens to be one of our favourite films. And, as much as we love Dolly Parton, Whitney’s version of “I Will Always Love You” remains one of the best ever cover songs.
It was genuinely sad to see her succumb to addiction and ultimately lose her life on February 11, 2012. The music world lost a legend on that day eight years ago.
There’s currently few decent tattoos of Whitney – something we think should change.
With a Whitney Houston tattoo you could go full on 80s style, inspired by her earlier music videos; or choose a more soft and etheral look from “Run To You”; maybe her futuristic and bad ass persona from “Queen of the Night”; or simply a favourite photograph of Whitney.
