Today we’re looking at the top Friday the 13th tattoos. Colour realism wizard, Paul Acker has done quite a few Jason Voorhees tattoos over the years which we have documented here, so in this post we’re focusing on the 40 best (now 60, in 2019) tattoos we found in a sea of thousands on Instagram.
If you’ve watched Scream it’s likely you will never forget that Mrs Voorhees – not Jason – is the killer in the first Friday the 13th film. The 1980 original was followed by a further 8 films over 13 years. Audiences were then transported some 400 years into the future in 2002’s Jason X, then brought back to reality and modern day for Freddy vs. Jason (2003) and the remake in 2009.
Despite it being one of the worst films of the franchise, Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday has one of the goriest and visually shocking death scenes – it’s one of our favourites.
A close second is the liquid nitrogren-head smashing scene from Jason X – it was later recreated on Mythbusters. If you want to relive the kills from the 12 Friday the 13th films – without the ridiculous storylines and plot holes – be sure to watch all the Kill Count videos from Dead Meat.
Over some three decades we’ve seen Jason wear several variations of masks, from a sack with an eyehole, to the iconic hockey mask, and a new and improved futuristic mask in Jason X. Which one do you prefer?
Maybe, someday, we’ll see another Friday the 13th film. Until then, take a look at these tattoos for some inspiration for your own piece.
