A character introduced to the Marvel Comics universe way back in the 80s, it has taken an astonishing 34 years for a Venom-dedicated film to be produced.
A little background for those of you unfamiliar with Venom: The concept for Venom was inspired by a Marvel Comics reader’s idea for a new Spider-Man costume; from there, a backstory was written thus creating the Venom character. Venom is one of many alien Symbiotes (a fictional extraterrestrial race) in Marvel Comics that requires a bond with a human in order to survive. In November 1984, Spider-Man became this Symbiotes first host, although it didn’t become known as Venom until it merged with Eddie Brock.
Marvel fans got a taste of Venom (played by Topher Grace) in Spider-Man 3, but the role has now been taken over by Tom Hardy.
Venom is about to hit cinemas around the globe, so let’s get on to the tattoos.
The second Venomtrailer caused a little confusion, as some fans were under the impression that Carnage would be in the film – apparently it is another Symbiote called Riot. There are, however, rumours that Woody Harrelson has a cameo in the film in order to set up a sequel in which he will be playing Carnage.
Since we love our readers so much, and Venom 2 is still quite a way off, here are a couple of bonus Carnage tattoos.
