If you’ve been naughty this year then expect a visit from Krampus rather than Santa Claus. The half-goat, half-demon figure from European folklore is said to strap a sack or basket to its back and go around collecting all the evil children, then disposing of them as it so chooses.
Given the negative perceptions held by people in regards to us modified folk, the same tattooed people are showing no fear, preferring Krampus tattoos over Santa tattoos.
The hairy, horned, fanged, cloven hoofed and long, pointed tongue creature has been around for centuries, but has enjoyed a resurgence due to our Internet culture. So, when it comes to a Krampus tattoo there is so much vintage artwork from postcards to greeting cards from which to draw inspiration.
Alternatively, give your tattoo artist a few descriptive words about Krampus’ appearance and let them have their way with the design; each tattooers preferred style and own personal imagination is sure to produce some unique results.
While you’re getting tattooed why not watch the 2015 film to take your mind off the pain. Now, onto the top 20 tattoos…
