Top 20 Ewok Tattoos

Before Porgs there were the Ewoks: the cute critters of the Star Wars universe.

The creation of Ewoks took a team of people behind the scenes who took inspiration from various sources. The name Ewok evolved from the Miwok, a Native American tribe; the Ewok’s features were loosely based on the breed of George Lucas’ own dog, a Griffon Bruxellois; and their “Ewokese” speech was developed from a Mongolic language spoken by the Kalmyk people of Russia. These elements were combined to produce the Ewoks you have known for decades.

While fans these days are more open to the introduction of new characters, Ewoks were met with mixed reactions upon their appearance in Return of the Jedi. Despite all that, Ewoks are still winning when it comes to tattoos, with over double the amount of tagged images on Instagram.

Love or hate Ewoks, there’s no denying just how cute these 20 tattoos are.
