Next week’s WrestleMania event will mark 25 years since that iconic Shawn Michaels/Razor Ramon ladder match – the first WWF match Dave Meltzer ever awarded a five star rating.
Scott Hall began his wrestling career a little later in life, at age 26, working the Florida territory of the NWA (National Wrestling Alliance); Dusty Rhodes was one of his first feuds/storylines. For the first few years of his career, Hall wrestled in territories across the US and Puerto Rico under different names and gimmicks. Hall became known as Razor Ramon upon joining the World Wrestling Federation in 1992.
Razor Ramon left the WWF for WCW in 1996, along with Diesel/Kevin Nash, debuting first before being joined by Nash, and later Hulk Hogan to form the New World Order (nWo). After dominating the ratings for several years, Scott Hall would eventually return to the WWE following the demise of WCW. He once again left the company to work overseas and in TNA, all the while battling demons in his personal life.
Hall was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014. And in more recent years, Scott Hall received a lifeline from his former WCW peer, Diamond Dallas Page in an attempt to get him sober and improve his health.
A Scott Hall or Razor Ramon tattoo may reflect your love of mid to late 90s wrestling; the nWo and the Monday Night Wars; or it may be that you’ve shared similar struggles in life. Whatever your reason for the tattoo, just remember that you deserve the best tattoo possible: be inspired but don’t copy, and do the research to find the appropriate tattoo artist.
