RuPaul’s debut single, “Supermodel (You Better Work)”, from the 1993 album Supermodel of the World, catapulted him to number 2 on the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart, and received heavy rotation on MTV (back when they were all about music!). And RuPaul sure has “worked” since then, whether it be the 11 studio albums, or his drag queen, actor, model, singer, songwriter, and television roles.
RuPaul’s Drag Race premiered in 2009 and has won three Primetime Emmy Awards. The show has given contestants a platform to express themselves through their art, sexuality, and drag performances – it has even spawned several seasons of All Stars and awarded more career opportunities for past contestants. With its worldwide success it has started discussions, growing acceptance, and reminds us that deep down we’re all just people trying to live happy and healthy lives.
Honestly, there’s not enough time or room here to talk about all of RuPaul’s achievements but we do have the top 10 RuPaul tattoos for you. Which of these tattoos is your favourite? Have any of these inspired you to get your own RuPaul tattoo?
