‘The Strangers’ Tattoo Inspiration

With how much time we’ve been forced to spend at home this past year, it’s nice that some of us are able to have guests again; the people in The Strangers are certainly not the kind your want in your house.

The Strangers is a 2008 film inspired by Mansion family Tate murders and with similarities to the Keddie cabin murders. It was written and directed by Bryan Bertino, and stars Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman as Kristen and James. The couple’s stay at a vacation home soon becomes a living nightmare when three masked strangers turn up to terrorise them.

The Strangers is firmly rooted in reality as there’s zero supernatural elements; the premise is something which could actually happen to any one of us, at any time. Critics were rather scathing with their thoughts on the film and its script. Luckily, we’re all entitled to our opinions, and ultimately it all depends on what you most find terrifying.

A sequel was released a decade later, titled The Strangers: Prey at Night. Of the two films which is your favourite?

The Strangers has both its cult following and its detractors, but there are also some die-hard fans who have their own Strangers inspired tattoo. Will you be joining them?
