Brr! It’s Cold In Here! I Said There Must Be Some ‘Bring It On’ Tattoos In The Atmosphere!

This week (August 25) marked the 20th anniversary of everyone’s favourite cheerleading comedy: Bring It On.

Bring It On wasn’t actually released in Australia until December 2000 – remember those times when we had to wait months for films? Remember when could still go to the cinema, or anywhere? Fellow Victorians know our pain.

Starring Kirsten Dunst (Jumanji), Gabrielle Union (10 Things I Hate About You), and Eliza Dushku (Buffy), Bring It On was fun and silly at times, although but not quite an accurate portrayal of competitive high school cheerleading. The audiences didn’t care, as the film was number one at the North American box-office for three consecutive weeks, 2000 was the height of all those now cult classic teen movies.

Bring It On was followed by five direct-to-video sequels (one starring Beyonce’s sister, Solange), yet none have managed to reach the cult status of the original.

We might not have been able to find many Bring It On tattoos but, during our research, we came across this adorable photo from Halloween 2019: Gabrielle Union and her young daughter dressed as Clovers cheerleaders. What will your Halloween costume be this year?

It’s not quite yet the spooky season, so sit down to watch the original Bring It On – and all of its sequels if you’re that much of a fan – and begin taking notes of your favourite moments or imagery; somewhere in there will be the beginning of a concept for your next tattoo.

Whatever you do, don’t be like Big Red and think that you can steal either of these tattoos featured here. If you do, well have one very big Spirit Finger to wave in your direction.

Now, onto the tattoos!
